Position Summary:

The senior market research specialist provides intelligence to drive our understanding of opportunities with the market to grow sales from deep analysis of sales data, and market, competitor and customer information derived from CRM, surveys, external data and various customer listening posts.

The specialist manages our formal global customer research program and provide extensive analysis of research results; assist in the development of other processes to gather insight and designs, conduct and analyze surveys. This position is responsible for developing and executing data mining and business intelligence analytics with a focus on sales, customer and market data. The candidate will work with our global network of sales and service centers to impact their businesses.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • ​​Working with the leadership team to identify the company’s short- and long-term goals

  • ​Develop data requirements for and execute data mining and analysis

  • ​Researching and forecasting marketing trends and changes

  • ​Analyzing trends in the market and industry and researching competitors

  • ​Recommending ways the company can improve its performance

  • ​Evaluating the company’s processes and procedures to identify areas that need to be improved

  • ​Collecting and analyzing market data

  • ​Establishing marketing KPIs

  • ​Tracking and reporting results

  • ​Writing strategic plans to achieve the objectives

  • ​Establishing methods of collecting and tracking data to evaluate performance toward the goals

  • ​Formulate quantitative approaches and build models to address business questions

  • ​Proactively mine data to Identify patterns, trends and segments

  • ​Develop segment profiles and benchmarks

  • ​Develop predictive models to identify the best opportunities to grow sales as well as to minimize risks

  • ​Present data and research to management and executives

  • ​Participate in development and implementation of processes / solutions to collect and analyze data on established and prospective customers

  • ​Be the data/analytics subject matter expert and perform advanced statistical analysis of sales data

  • ​Perform systematic and scientific analysis of market data

  • ​Work independently to develop and track metrics to enable trend analysis

  • ​Function as the lead data expert working collaboratively with the organization

  • ​Effectively communicate the results and insights from analysis to a diverse stakeholder group, including senior executives

  • ​Identify opportunities to improve decision-making based on analysis

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:​​

  • Education: B.S. Math, Statistics, Market Research, Economics or other quantitative discipline. Advanced degree is preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of analyst experience. Previous statistical and modeling experience required – multivariate analysis (regression, cluster analysis, decision trees) and structural equation modeling. Experience with CRM system data analysis, relational databases, competitive intelligence, and B to B market research is preferred.

  • Skills: Expert spreadsheet skills and SAS, SPSS or other analytical tools. Experience with SAP Business Intelligence tools. Excellent math and problem solving skills. Proficiency in use of data warehouse reporting and data-mining tools. Skilled and knowledgeable in analysis theory, practice and tools. Persistence to solve difficult problems. Strong verbal, writing and presentation skills.
